upon a time, there was a very happy (albeit tired) working mom.
One night, our new mom fell into a deep sleep, a rare and much
appreciated occurrence. She dreamt of a magical place that had
everything a baby needs. If this were a fairytale, our heroine
would have clicked her ruby slippers or waved her magic wand
and voila! Her fantasy would have materialized. Fortunately, our
dreamer
Erin Taylor has been working retail magic as owner of botanik
since 1998. With a flick of her magic wand (aka a lot of work),
botanik’s
separate garden and home stores, located side by side in Summerland,
CA, were merged into one. Two months later in April 2010, Taylor
opened Amelia Jane baby and toddler boutique in an enchanted
little cottage by the sea. Entering the former home is like walking
into
a baby’s room. Amelia Jane’s vignettes include a
gender-neutral nursery, a feminine-inspired nursery, a colorful
boy’s room
and a back room devoted to vintage toys and books, bath and gear.
The boutique’s focus is simple, soothing, gentle, peaceful
things that inspire imagination. Much of the merchandise is ageless
so it can grow with the child. Amelia Jane is a mother’s
dream come true. |
